Education
Teaching is one of my roles as a Counselor Educator and Supervisor. Research indicates that university professors spend approximately 53% of their time teaching. According to the American Counseling Association (ACA) Code of Ethics (2014) and the 2016 Standards of the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), CES are responsible for teaching students core curricular knowledge, counseling skills, and the professional dispositions of being a mental health provider.

Teaching Philosophy
As a counselor educator, I am obligated to provide students with an opportunity to actively engage in academic and professional instruction that provides them with the skills, knowledge, and dispositions to be equipped for professional counseling. That is, establishing professional relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds and assisting them in meeting their mental health goals across health, education, and career domains.
