Therapeutic Approach

I provide therapeutic services from a trauma-informed approach using integrated intervention strategies from Narrative Therapy,  Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I use Gestalt techniques and mindfulness methods to assist clients in becoming more self-aware and understanding what’s happening in their lives. When appropriate, I also use Motivational Interviewing to spark the client’s motivation to change specific negative behaviors. The strategies and interventions assist clients in reaching their therapeutic goals, such as decreased stress response, development of coping skills, and relapse prevention.

Counseling Philosophy

I work from a non-judgmental stance and provide unconditional positive regard and validation for my clients. My role is to help you identify your goals and solutions to your problems. I believe you are the expert and have the power to achieve your goals. I will provide you with the support and therapeutic resources to help you in your journey to mental health.
